Audi scores with its plug-in hybrid strategy. At the eCar Awards by Auto Bild and Auto Test magazines, Audi took first place with the A3 Sportback e-tron and the TT offroad concept car.
The Audi A3 Sportback e‑tron was the winner in the “Best Plug‑In Hybrid – Production Vehicles” category. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development of AUDI AG, accepted the eCar Award yesterday at the Paris Motor Show: “Our Audi A3 Sportback e‑tron has impressed our customers with the everyday practicality of its plug‑in hybrid drive system. It stands for performance, sportiness, comfort and efficiency.”
The Audi TT offroad concept made the best impression in the category of “Best Plug‑In Hybrid – Concept Vehicles”. Audi introduced this show car at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition in April. Its plug‑in hybrid drive system is capable of very dynamic performance with two electric motors and 300 kW (408 hp) of system power. 54 electric cars competed in this fifth edition of the eCar Award. Readers of Auto Bild and Auto Test voted in eleven categories.
