Audi has unveiled the TT Offroad Concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The four-door TT model adds an entirely new expression to the Audi design language.
“The Audi TT offroad concept provides a glimpse of how we might imagine a new model in the future TT family,” commented Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development.
“It combines the sporty genes of the TT with the strengths of a compact Audi SUV. Its plug-in hybrid drive with the option of inductive charging is a major step toward the mobility of the future. We chose to present the Audi TT offroad concept in China, our second domestic market, because it represents the urban mobility of tomorrow: It is sustainable, dynamic, intelligent and connected.”, he added.
Audi TT Offroad Concept is powered by a hybrid powertrain including a four-cylinder 2.0 liter TFSI working together with two electric motors. The petrol engine delivers 292HP (215 kW) and 380Nm (280 lb-ft), while the electric motors additional 115HP (85 kW) and 270Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. The combined output is 408HP (300 kW) and 650Nm (479 lb-ft). 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The Plug-in hybrid is able to cover 50 km (31 miles) in electric mode. Fuel consumption stands at just 1.9 liters / 100 km (123 mpg US or 148 mpg UK) with corresponding CO2 emissions of 45 g/km.
Other highlights include a set of 21” alloy wheels fitted with 255/40 tires. The interior features slim sport seats, individual rear seats and a big luggage compartment, when rear seats are folded down.
