The transport service of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) has added 66 especially efficient full-size sedans to its fleet: With CO2 emissions of only 114 grams per kilometer (183.5 g/mi), the Audi A6 2.0 TDI ultra is one of the lowest-consuming premium cars in its segment. In the coming days, AUDI AG will be handing over the keys for the first cars of the efficiency fleet.
Audi ultra stands for the comprehensive claim of the premium brand to achieve consistent sustainability in its products and in all company divisions. Audi models with the “ultra” badge attain best values in fuel consumption and emissions thanks to innovative technical solutions. Audi already offers 22 ultra models for the A3*, A4*, A5* and A6* model series.
“The A6 ultra is a prime example of our efficiency philosophy, combining low consumption with Audi sportiness and luxury-class comfort,” says Wayne Griffiths, Head of Sales Germany at AUDI AG. “Our ultra models are of great interest to both fleet and private customers. They offer sustainable mobility fully suitable for everyday use, to the benefit of both the environment and operating costs.”
In the future, members of the German Federal Parliament can rely on the latest TDI technology for their official trips: The Audi A6 ultra is powered by a two-liter TDI with 140 kW (190 hp) that has been newly developed in many aspects. Its high torque of 400 Nm (295.0 lb-ft) ensures sporty power generation even at low engine speeds, along with low fuel consumption. With the optional 7-speed S tronic, a totally new dual-clutch transmission, its average fuel consumption further drops to 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers (53.5 US mpg). Moreover, the business sedan achieves its outstanding efficiency levels without restrictions on equipment levels, thanks to the interplay between numerous other technological components, such as the automatic start-stop system and the driver information system with its efficiency program.
