Audi has announced plans to offer an R8 China Edition in the People’s Republic.
Available exclusively in Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey, the special edition has contrasting side blades, a carbon fiber rear wing and gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, there’s leather / Alcantara sport seats, an Alcantara steering wheel and body color accents. The special edition also has an individually-serial numbered aluminum gear knob which will skip all numbers with the number four in them to “respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers.”
Power is provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 525 HP (386 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an R tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system which enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Production will be limited to 80 units.
