2012 Audi A1 is voted “Best small car” for this year in Germany. It is already available on the market at a competitive price in 3-door and 5-door variant.
2012 Audi A1 is available in three trim levels – SE, Sport and S-line.
There standard equipment is quite rich – light alloy wheels with low-profile tires, remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front and rear windows and mirrors, split folding rear seat and a six-speaker single CD Concert audio system linked to a 6.5” retractable display.
The Sport model comes with 16” wheels, lowered sports suspension and nice sport seats. Other extras include Bluetooth mobile phone preparation and a Driver’s Information System.
The top-of-range S-line has 17” alloy wheels, S line sports suspension and leather and cloth combination upholstery.
The engine range includes three TFSI petrol engines and two TDI diesels.
The smallest is a 1.2 litre TFSI with 86HP (63 kW). The 1.4 litre TFSI has 122HP (90 kW) and the 1.4 litre twin-turbocharged TFSI boasts 185HP (136 kW).
The diesel variant is a 1.6 litre TDI with 105HP (77 kW) delivering nice performance and incredibly low fuel consumption.

The most powerful 1.4 TFSI with 185HP comes with 7-speed S tronic twin-clutch gearbox – 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds and a top speed of 227 km/h (141 mph).
The new Audi A1 is a great option, if you mainly drive in city, but the car also provides good comfort on long trips. The 5-door variant offers good luggage compartment – 270 litres with the rear seats up and 920 litres, when they are folded.
