We all want to be number one and you don’t get to the top by being passive. If you want to stand above the rest, you need to get aggressive and set goals. Audi is one of the big three names in luxury vehicles and they have recently made a declaration that might ruffle some feathers, but says that they are planning on taking the number #1 spot among luxury vehicles by 2020.
This declaration comes to us courtesy of CEO Rupert Stadler and Reuters. This may seem like a big statement, but this is actually a revision of their previous declaration of 2015. The numbers are in their favor and this could become reality.
Audi makes some amazing vehicles and they are constantly advancing into new territory and gaining new customers. From making expensive options, like HID lights, into standard features to keeping up with current design trends, they know what it is going to take to unseat the current king.
BMW is not going to give up the #1 spot without a fight and it is going to take a lot more than just adding long lasting headlights to the new models. It is going to take luck.
One of the biggest factors in this paradigm shift is going to be the fluidity of the market. It’s hard to make any projections about the next 8 years.
All three of the big companies have proposed the same strategy of producing more cars and more lines of vehicles to appeal to a wider audience and cast a wider net, so it is still anyone’s game. There is still talk of a North American Audi factory that could really ti the scales, but I’m not holding my breath for that one. A little dip in the market could see that plan wiped from the board.
