Audi sponsors A.C Milan football club
What’s the world coming to when a German car company sponsors an Italian football team? As seen with Iveco’s sponsorship of rugby, it’s debateable as to whether football sponsorship is worth it; but Audi has been re-confirmed the top sponsor until 2010 of football club A.C. Milan.

It will be the third consecutive year for the sponsorship of the red and black Milanese team and in September soccer stars and managers will receive more than 60 cars from Audi, with the choice among the most famous and sporty cars from the Q7 to the R8, the latter reserved for Brasilian footballer Kakà.

The agreement is part of Audi’s bid to be seen as the partner of the best soccer teams in Europe (for example, Real Madrid). Signing the agreement was Volkswagon Group president Giuseppe Tartaglione and general manager/vice president of A.C. Milan Adriano Galliani, who received a special bicycle manufactured by the company.
