The A3 distinguishes itself as a great-handling, attractive sedan with an upscale interior and luxury features not generally expected in this segment. A 1.8 liter turbocharged four-cylinder ending with 180HP and front-wheel drive and a 6-speed auto are standard; a manual is not offered.
Optional is a 220HP 2.0-liter four with a six-speed auto and Quattro all-wheel drive. Steering is precise and the ride is composed. If you need more power, an S3 will be available later this year.
